If you don’t exfoliate your skin regularly, you’re missing out on a few key beauty benefits: a healthy glow, reduced breakouts and dark spots, and improved complexion. The List goes on and on. One of my favorite ways to exfoliate is to use exfoliating pads soaked in chemical acids (AHA, BHA, Pha and fruit enzymes) to promote skin cell renewal. It’s nice to see how much dirt, debris and makeup come off with each use.

To further explore the benefits of exfoliating pads, we spoke with Crystal Koro, master beautician and founder of Crystal Clear Skin and Beauty in Los Angeles.

The advantages of using peelable pads

In addition to the above advantages, Koro knows firsthand how amazing Peel pads are. “There are endless benefits to exfoliating properly, and using a chemical peel is simply my favorite,” she begins. “I recommend them to almost every client who comes to my treatment room, and they are my best-selling products because they give you real results.”

In addition to their ability to achieve a clearer and more radiant complexion, exfoliating pads work wonders under the neck. “They can be used all over the body and are not limited to the face,” Koro shares. “I love using them for keratosis pilaris (KP) on the back of the arms and acne on the chest, back and behind.”You can also use them on your armpits to reduce pigmentation and odors. (Who would have thought?)

Expert advice on the use

As the name suggests, exfoliating pads can cause your skin to peel or exfoliate, highlighting the importance of using them safely and correctly. “I always suggest that my clients try exfoliating pads on the hand or neck first to check for sensitivity or allergies to the product,” says Koro. It is better to build the use of the way you measure tolerance, starting with once a week and increasing from there. As tolerated, Koro suggests using exfoliating pads twice a week and building up to every other night. After all, you don’t want to overdo it — so go slowly and steadily to win the race to the glow.

“Make sure you moisturize and protect your skin properly to reduce sensitivity when using scrubs,” Koro adds. This involves prioritizing moisturizing ingredients for skin care, applying a lot of moisturizers and, above all, using an SPF in the morning. No Exceptions.
